The code to set a layout switching combo is in g-c-c right now. But it's also needed in g-s-d, in the case of a new gdm layout being appended to the current list of layouts, if there's no such combo already.

The last patch in bug 585290 shows an option to fix this (copy the code from g-c-c to g-s-d), but it's obviously ugly :-)

Having an API in libgnomekbd to do this would be nice.

fixed in git (libgnomekbd + g-c-c). please check.
