Description David Balažic 2009-11-30 12:41:16 UTC
(ubuntu bug 489420)

If I insert a non-empty DVD+RW, then right click its icon and select Umount, the icon disappears from desktop.

If I then open "Places/Computer and right click the DVD icon, there is no "Blank Disc..." item in its context menu.

To blank the disk, I must mount it first. That is illogical and unnecessary.

Additionally:
 - if I right click the DVD icon and select Mount, the mount item in the menu changes to Unmount, but the Blank Disc... item does not return, until I close and reopen the Computer window.

PS: Besides "Blank disc..." there are two other disc related menu items that behave the same, don't remember their names right now, "Copy disc..." or something like that.

Starting with version 3.28, nautilus will not handle the "files on desktop background" feature. For better alternatives, read this blog post https://csorianognome.wordpress.com/2017/12/21/nautilus-desktop-plans/
