GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 603364
email pictures - mail program has no attachments
Last modified: 2010-05-16 09:42:51 UTC
Hi, I run the current f-spot version 0.6.1.5 with ubuntu 9.10. When I want to send pictures with firefox, which was with the previous version included in ubuntu 9.04 possible, there are no attachments in the mail any more. In the tmp export directory the files exist in the chosen resolution. I found some descriptions that the described situation are occurred in previous versions as well, so may be upstream bug... thanks
Are you sure you are using Firefox to send email??? Could you explain a little bit more how you proceed?
thanks, you are right, I want to send the emails with thunderbird, just a typo. I changed the hold time the pictures are kept in the tmp directory to an 1/2 hour. Procedure: click on pictures, export, send by email, thunderbird opens but without attachments, Pics are places in correct resolution to the tmp directory Thorsten
Ok, so this report should be close because it is a duplicate of this other one: https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=601711
vincent, I am not sure, if this is really a duplicate. my problem is that there is no attachment in thunderbird at all, which is not depending on the timer or any other action in f-spot. Thunderbird starts the message and its attachment box is empty. The problem I had before is that the files disappeared during email writing and thunderbird complained that the attachments are not available to send any more but I fixed this problem with the longer timer. In my case thunderbird does not know anything about attachments....
Ok, this is a different problem, your right, sorry for that. Hope someone can help, it seems that using something different than Evolution cause a few disagreement...
@Thorsten: thunderbird version ?
The one in the ubuntu 9.10 repository: Version 2.0.0.23 (20090817)
please report the output of gconftool-2 -g /desktop/gnome/url-handlers/mailto/command (and remove needinfo when you reply)
/usr/lib/thunderbird/thunderbird "%s"
try setting that key to "thunderbird %s" only, it will magically start to work... *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of bug 472715 ***
Maxxer, thanks a lot!!! so no full path to the lib AND in addition without double quotes for the %s argument! Great Job! Thorsten
