Description Ross Vandegrift 2009-11-26 19:18:36 UTC
I'd like to have the option to disable Banshee's notifications when the song changes. 95% of the time, I am not watching the media player, and the notification is an interruption. A switch to disable sending them is all that's needed.

Thanks,
Ross

You can already turn off notifications:

Edit > Preferences > Extensions tab > Disable the Notification Area Icon extension.

Unfortunately, this also disables the notification area icon (as would be expected from the name of the extension). In reality, the notification area icon and the actual notifications should be controlled by two separate extension. For that issue, see Bug 575232.

You can already do this - right click on the Banshee notification area icon and uncheck "Show Notifications"
Comment 3 Ross Vandegrift 2009-11-27 20:24:54 UTC
This only works if banshee is run under Gnome, with a notification panel for icons. I am running banshee under Enlightenment with no notification panel, and thus don't have any access to that UI element.

Michael's suggestion to unload the extension works perfectly for me.
