i just tried loading some music onto an ipod.  it failed for some reason i'm not certain of.

without even considering or discussing the underlying cause of this problem, rhythmbox deals with the situation really really poorly.

specifically: it popped up one window for each song that i tried to copy.  that was a bit over 1000.  metacity crashed (or rather, used up 100% cpu, making X unusable until i switched to console and killed off rhythmbox).  for a normal user, that's a reboot.

i did it again with a smaller number of songs just to discover what the issue was.  here's a screenshot.
