Description Duncan Lithgow 2009-11-25 11:53:42 UTC
Copied from downstream Launchpad/Ubuntu

I regularly chat in English and Danish at the same time. A number of words can be spelt wrongly, but because they are valid in the other language, they show up as spelt correctly. The right-click spelling menu should allow me to specify which language an IM chat is using and then only check that dictionary. See the Firefox implementation for a good implementation.
Comment 1 Pierre-Luc Beaudoin 2009-12-14 23:15:12 UTC
Firefox is not a good implementation. I have to keep telling it in which language I am typing in.

What would be better is where Empathy would automagically select one and only language based on your conversation.

In order to allow "per contact language" (bug #602923) we should also remember the language that was used to chat in the window.
