Description Yann 2009-11-23 16:37:14 UTC
Dear all,
I remember my first impression when I used Alacarte for the first time : why are there 2 windows with the same elements ?
After testing the new user understands, but I think it could be simplified.

What about grouping the 2 windows in 1, and take the best of each ?

- take the actual "Menu" window
- add it the "Show column" on the left
- put the items in the tree, just like the sub-menus are currently

and that's it : you have all in one easy window !

Please see mockup.png in attached file.

Regards

GNOME is going to shut down bugzilla.gnome.org in favor of gitlab.gnome.org.
As part of that, we are mass-closing older open tickets in bugzilla.gnome.org
which have not seen updates for a longer time (resources are unfortunately
quite limited so not every ticket can get handled).

If you can still reproduce the situation described in this ticket in a recent
and supported software version, then please follow
  https://wiki.gnome.org/GettingInTouch/BugReportingGuidelines
and create a new enhancement request ticket at
  https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/alacarte/-/issues/

Thank you for your understanding and your help.
