Description Dan Buhrman 2009-11-20 16:04:42 UTC
Evolution on Karmic (fresh install). IMAP mail account.

simple to reproduce -> new mail -> send this email without "To" address ... (with subject or not) and tada ! Evolution don't check the "To" field. Empty or with a malform email address, no problem for evolution... it sends it and place it in the "sent" folder. Stop.

evolution 2.28.1

Evolution patch
Comment 3 Bharath Acharya 2009-11-23 05:24:59 UTC
Ok found this http://bit.ly/4QkH0j My patch fixes only the post-to one. The patch for master fixes all scenarios. Port it for stable and announce strings :-)
Comment 4 Milan Crha 2009-11-23 10:11:13 UTC
Correct, this had been fixed recently on master, within bug #250046, and as new strings added I decided to not disturb stable branch.

From my point of view, I wouldn't backport patch to stable, this is the only bug, being a duplicate of the above mentioned, thus not a critical issue. Just my thoughts.
Comment 5 Akhil Laddha 2009-11-24 10:21:38 UTC
@Dan, lets wait for next stable release (2.30.0) then :-)

Thanks for taking the time to report this bug.
