Description Ben 2009-11-18 19:00:18 UTC
Many of my contacts use multiple IM protocols. The result is a contact list littered with repeat entries.

Pidgin addresses this problem by allowing you to drag a contact over another contact to open up a grouping of contacts. In this group, the first available protocol is chosen if you select that contact. Please implement that feature in Empathy.

Example

Before:
John Smith (MSN)
John Smith (AIM)
John Smith (Jabber)
Jane Doe (MSN)
Jane Doe (AIM)
Jane Doe (Jabber)

After (Expanded):
- John Smith
  * John Smith (MSN)
  * John Smith (AIM)
  * John Smith (Jabber)
- Jane Doe
  * Jane Doe (MSN)
  * Jane Doe (AIM)
  * Jane Doe (Jabber)

After (Collapsed)
+ John Smith
+ Jane Doe
