Maybe I missed something but I can't reproduce the bug with Evince 2.29.2 (git master).

Is the bug still here for you ?

in connection with the two attachments:

are the following packages:

evince_2.29.1-0ubuntu2_amd64.deb
libevview2_2.29.1-0ubuntu2_amd64.deb
libevdocument2_2.29.1-0ubuntu2_amd64.deb

Comment 10 Stefan Koch 2009-11-24 16:17:07 UTC
It's could also a bug in the gnome printing system, for more details see the fourth one...
But with evince 2.26.0-0ubuntu1 it works without errors...
Comment 11 Emmanuel Fleury 2009-11-29 17:10:33 UTC
Ok, what I noticed from the several files you provided is that the size of the characters on dok1_ORIGINAL.pdf (comment 4) is slightly bigger than the one on job_181-dok1_ORIGINAL.pdf (comment 5).

Where dok1_ORIGINAL.pdf is the original document and job_181-dok1_ORIGINAL.pdf is the one produced by CUPS.

So, I can confirm that there is a slight squeeze of the font size (about 5-10%) between the original document and the CUPS one. I am using Evince 2.29.1 (git master).

Marking this issue as 'NEW'.
Comment 12 Stefan Koch 2009-11-30 22:08:57 UTC
I have now installed the following packages:

evince_2.29.2-0ubuntu1_amd64.deb
libevdocument2_2.29.2-0ubuntu1_amd64.deb
libevview2_2.29.2-0ubuntu1_amd64.deb

under ubuntu 9.10 from ubuntu 10.04 (not released)
The other dependencies from 9.10 are not updated from 10.04 packages

The error happens, too.

With your installation of 2.29.2 it does not happen?
Comment 13 Emmanuel Fleury 2009-12-01 08:38:21 UTC
Sorry, my message wasn't clear enough. :)

Yes, it does happen. I can see that there is a change in the size of fonts.
Comment 14 Stefan Koch 2009-12-04 20:11:02 UTC
Will the bug fixed in the next version?
Comment 15 Stefan Koch 2009-12-31 16:54:28 UTC
@Emmanuel
@all

in the version 2.29.3 of evince, the problem still occurs.

When will the problem be fixed?
Comment 16 Stefan Koch 2009-12-31 16:54:48 UTC
on ubuntu lucid (10.04)
Comment 17 Adrian Johnson 2010-01-01 02:24:13 UTC
The bug should be fixed in git master. Previously evince scaled pages to fit
within the margins. I assume this was to a fix bug report where the edges of
printouts were truncated due to the page content extending into the unprintable
area. Now there is a new tab in the print dialog that allows the scaling to be enabled or disabled.

Thanks...
