GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 601880
empathy keeps changing my status to "available" without my consent
Last modified: 2009-11-20 15:36:38 UTC
Hi, This is related to the bug filed at launchpad (https://bugs.launchpad.net/empathy/+bug/452980), apparently the reported didn't report it here. As I am sometimes having the same problem, I will post it here: "Binary package hint: empathy If I leave empathy in "not available" mode for a while, when I come back I find the status changed to "available". ProblemType: Bug Architecture: i386 Date: Fri Oct 16 12:40:56 2009 DistroRelease: Ubuntu 9.10 ExecutablePath: /usr/bin/empathy Package: empathy 2.28.0.1-1ubuntu6 ProcEnviron: SHELL=/bin/bash LANG=it_IT.UTF-8 ProcVersionSignature: Ubuntu 2.6.31-14.47-generic SourcePackage: empathy Uname: Linux 2.6.31-14-generic i686" I have the same when my status is 'busy'. I only use the MSN protocol. I use the ubuntu fast-user-switch-applet (fusa) to change my status. There are attachments on the launchpad bug. Thanks.
I am experiencing this bug as well on Ubuntu 9.10 Karmic, with Empathy 2.28.1.1 No matter what I change the status too either from empathy, the empathy tray icon, or the fast user switching desktop app, it immediately changes my status back to available. I am using the AIM protocol. Info would be greatly appreciated, as this is an annoying bug that makes Empathy nearly unusable in my opinion.
I think this is a duplicate of #566832. Empathy sets you back to Available when you unlock your screen. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of bug 566832 ***
