I work with Kubuntu, since  the 9.04 and now in the 9.10, when I leave the email client, it makes not the trash empty althought it's marked in the settings, the spam does it. What can be the reason an how I can fix it?

do you mean edit > preference > mail preference > general empty trash folder on exist ?

yes, that's what I mean..tried also select all messages and CTRL Alt Del...nothing helps
