I added an irc-account for "Ubuntu-Servers".
If I click on "Room" -> "Join" and expand "Room list", the list is all empty, and i can't see how to update it (e.g. with right-click)

Appeared in Ubuntu Karmic, full version of empathy:  2.28.1.1

That's because telepathy-idle doesn't implement room listing: https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=23005

That's an explanation WHY it does not work.

I doesn't work because of an external component. Empathy is not involved here.
