This is a great regression for me since evince no longers select proper
orientation for attached pdf file (and similar ones I need to use), even, I am
unable to select orientation, that option is greyed out (see attached
screenshot)

I can't reproduce the problem. My printer still give me access to the 'Orientation' option.

I believe this issue to be linked to your printer settings and NOT to Evince in any manner.
Comment 3 Pacho Ramos 2009-11-30 14:29:53 UTC
But, acroread properly allows me to change orientation :-/
Comment 4 Pacho Ramos 2009-11-30 15:38:08 UTC
Umm, you are true, no gtk+ app allows me to change orientation, the problem is that I have no idea about where could be the problem :-(
Comment 5 Pacho Ramos 2009-11-30 17:24:24 UTC
OK, I have seen that this affects to evince-2.26* and 2.28*, but seems that it's solved in 2.29.2 (maybe this is why you cannot reproduce it).

The most strange think is that all the other gtk+ apps are also affected (gedit, epiphany...) :-/, then, I don't know if evince-2.29.2 has solved it because it uses a different "print system" :-|
Comment 6 Pacho Ramos 2009-11-30 17:52:31 UTC
Umm, maybe this is a dupe of bug 591551 , it would explain why other apps also fail in the same way, what do you think? Thanks :-)
Comment 7 Pacho Ramos 2009-11-30 17:56:27 UTC
Yes, it's a dupe as I interpret from:
http://www.mail-archive.com/gtk-devel-list@gnome.org/msg10142.html

Sorry for the inconvenience
