Heavy jerkiness and CPU hogging occurs when a window is moved/dragged over the wallpaper.

Rendering is smooth and fluid when the wallpaper is disabled.

Works really fine here, even on my very old Dell 630m laptop (which has an intel 915 integrated graphic card). I think your X server is somehow not using the right drivers, or DRI is disabled.
