Description Ludovic CHERON 2009-11-03 21:29:29 UTC
Using Ubuntu 9.10 (frech translations)
Created a user in previous version of Ubuntu (also including users-admin)

Now i want to remove this users account but i seems not to Work.
Lets says the users names "James U"

Ubuntu System/Administration/Users and groups
>> opens users-admin
click the key "clic to make updates"
enter my passord
>>enabled the entry "James U"
clic remove button to remove this user
>>dialog box to confirm
i answer yes
>> the user is no longer in the users list

clic "Close" button

No error message seems to say it's ok but...
if i re-launch users-admin : the user's account still exists

Notice the same tool enables me to change the users name.
The change has effect on the /etc/passwd file (user name changed)

Yeah, this is known in Ubuntu as
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-system-tools/+bug/458883
You can check that it's the same (weird) issue, try the suggested workaround to do so.

The problem with password modification is something else and there's already a fix for that, seehttps://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/system-tools-backends/+bug/463353
