Description Pedro Villavicencio 2009-11-03 15:24:41 UTC
this report has been filed here:

https://bugs.edge.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/rhythmbox/+bug/458395

rhythmbox version: 0.12.5

"When an iPod is connected, the Last.fm scrobbler plugin usually submits all tracks played on the iPod since the last time it was connected. This was the behaviour in Jaunty. In Karmic, the scrobbler does the same, except that the next time the iPod is connected, the tracks since the last connection AND those from before are submitted, meaning that now, after connecting my iPod 4 times, I have tracks that have been submitted 4 times from a few days ago."

"Here is the output for that. The scrobbles in this one do not date back as far. To do this, I connected my iPod, then after all the recent tracks were scrobbled, i ejected the iPod, closed Rhythmbox and restarted it. Then I re-connected the iPod, and the tracks all scrobbled again. This is the output of that second run of RhythmBox."

I have the same problem here with rhythmbox 0.12.8, libgpod 0.7.93 and an iPod nano 5g (the one with the cam.).

So I can confirm that this is a bug.

Best Regards,

Can you post a log from the iPod plugin?
You can get one by running rhythmbox -D ipod

rhythmbox log rhythmbox -D ipod with new played songs on iPod

I had 66 songs played before this log. Rhythmbox submitted 133 to last.fm

same log but after second connect

After the first log, I ejected the ipod, disconneced it from the computer and closed rhythmbox.
Afterwards I did the same logging again, this time rhythbox submitted 119 songs but it shouldn't submit any.

Thanks,
RoXXoR
