Last modified: 2012-06-18 16:36:05 UTC
Hello, When I scroll audio or video file sound crackling, stuttering, etc. But in rhythmbox scrolling works perfectly. Rhythmbox doesn't use scrubbing seeking, but Totem does. If it sounds bad, then it's GStreamer's fault.
From the description, the sound could just be the small amounts of audio that are played as the seek head is scrubbed across the video.
I have this bug with mp3 audio files or with video using mp3 as audio codec. With, for example, ogg files all works perfectly
Doesn't really sound like a bug, what else do you expect to hear during scrubbed seeking?
I would think that the samples played are probably too short to be "audible". It should probably sound more like bits of the song, rather than garbage as it does now.
Well, it plays short parts of the audio... and combining them with other, not directly following parts of the stream will result in noise. Not sure what can be done about that, with scrubbed seeking you mean sending lots of SEEK events in PLAYING, right?
