GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 600383
I have as a norm 13 channels open on irc empathy seems to be incapable of opening the all
Last modified: 2018-05-22 13:49:54 UTC
Empathy seems to struggle opening the 13 channels I'm on all day as a whole. It will place them in the wrong order not open some channels at all, it will fail to open any beyond ubunut-uk as it opens channel-serv. If there is any info I can provide to help debug this I will be more than happy to do so. Channels in my favourites are as follows they are all set to auto-connect: ubuntu-testing ubuntu-quality ubuntu-bug kubuntu-devel ubuntu-devel xubuntu-devel ubuntu-desktop ubuntu-installer ubuntu-mobile ubuntu-meeting ubuntu-release ubuntu-uk telepathy Version number is: 2.28.1-1ubuntu1

Empathy logs would be useful. You can get them from the help - Debug menu.
Created attachment 146737 [details] Current empathy log when I restart it again shortly I will grab a fresh one for you
Created attachment 146747 [details] Log from a fresh start 11 of 13 opened in reverse order
General description edit. Empathy only visibly shows 11 of 13 I think the reason I can't open the other 2 channels is because they are already open but not visible
Reopening as the requested information has been provided.
Are you sure this is not because the IRC network you're using limits the amount of open channels per user? I think either freenode or gimpnet does that.
Freenode allows you to have 13 open channels.
