GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 600357
100% cpu freeze when printing one particular document
Last modified: 2013-11-01 21:25:20 UTC
When I try to print this document : http://dl.rom1v.com/misc/sequences_zigomar.pdf (pages 2 or 10 or 12 or 13 or … all the pages which have this particular format), it doesn't work, the process of printing takes 100% cpu and never prints. I installed okular (kde pdf viewer) and it works, so I think this is an evince problem (not a printer driver problem).
Looks like a cairo issue. According to sysprof most of the time is spent on _cairo_pdf_surface_emi_pattern(). Adrian?
The file is no longer accessible. Could you try to reproduce in a newer evince? If you can reproduce, please attach the file or provide a new link for it. Otherwise, we'll have to close this bug as there is nothing for us to do without the test file.
Arf, I removed it. Fortunately, the same document is findable. I think it is exactly the same : http://imagesetlangages.fr/preps/sequences_zigomar.pdf
I confirm, I found it on another computer, it has the same sha256sum. The link of the bug report is now valid again.
(In reply to comment #4) > I confirm, I found it on another computer, it has the same sha256sum. The link > of the bug report is now valid again. Thanks. I am re-opening the bug. FWIW, the file is too big to attach it here.
Works for me with both poppler 0.18.4/cairo 1.12.2 and poppler master/cairo master.
I can't reproduce it now. Neither with evince 3.4.0/poppler 0.18 nor evince master/poppler 0.22. rom: may you give more information: - Can you reproduce it now? - Which version of evince/poppler? (see the about dialog) - How can we reproduce it? I tried to print pages 2, 10-13, and other combinations. All of them worked.
Closing this bug report as no further information has been provided. Please feel free to reopen this bug if you can provide the information asked for. Thanks!
