Patch for this bug

gnome-system-monitor use a lot of system resourses.
When open "Processes" tab, average CPU usage is 8%.
When open "Resources" tab, average CPU usage is 10% (after 40 sec.)

With this patch, CPU usage reduce to 1.5% / 2%.

Is that all achieved by not using Cairo? Is there any negative effect of this?
Comment 2 Robert Roth 2011-03-01 12:23:39 UTC
This should be marked as the duplicate of bug 524830, as the problem reported is the same, the high CPU usage of g-s-m.
