Ubuntu 9.10 RC. Installed Banshee, iPods do not show up. Have re-installed the
entire system and still no luck.

I have tried with a 1st gen nano as well as a 4th gen nano.

Both show up in Rhythmbox.

I have tried clicking on the ipod icon on the desktop and selecting "open in
banshee" but that does not work either.

This is an issue with Podsleuth, which Banshee uses to access iPods. It doesn't play nice with devicekit, which Ubuntu Karmic (and other distros) use to mount iPods.

Thanks for the bug report. This particular bug has already been reported into our bug tracking system, but please feel free to report any further bugs you find.
