Description waldir.leoncio 2009-10-27 15:27:33 UTC
Binary package hint: epiphany-browser

It's very nice to be able to use the spell checking utility in Epiphany (Karmic) but I am finding that if I tell Epiphany to correct a misspelling it removes the selected text without replacing it with the corrected spelling.

SYSTEM DATA:
Ubuntu version: 9.10 (with updates as of 10:00 am EDT today
Epiphany-browser version: 2.28.0-4ubuntu1

REPRODUCIBLE?: Definitely. It happens each time the steps below are followed. In fact it happened twice wile submitting this bug.

STEPS:
1. Launch epiphany-browser and surf to a page with a form you want to complete
2. Type in the textbox, making typos
3. Using the context menu select Spelling and Grammar: Check Document Now
4. Find a typo to be corrected, right click on it and select the proper spelling

EXPECTED:
The typo is replaced with the selected spelling

ACTUAL:
The typo'd spelling is removed but the corrected spelling isn't inserted

You try with a right button spelling and grammar and click on "check spelling while typing"

please reply this, thank

I can confirm this (mis-)behavior. That's how I always use the spellcheck and every time I select a correct spelling it simply clears the misspelling without replacing it with the selected correct spelling.

Tested latest version and it works without entering the new text. Issue can be solved.
