Description hx 2009-10-26 21:09:05 UTC
Settings can be set with no problems but when I specify the MP3 file play when email arrives, it is not played.

Thanks for taking the time to report this bug.
This bug report isn't very useful because it doesn't describe the bug well. If you have time and can still reproduce the bug, please read http://bugzilla.gnome.org/bug-HOWTO.html and add a description of how to reproduce this bug.
Comment 2 hx 2009-10-27 05:58:39 UTC
Well, there is nothing more to write or describe. That is all. But ... err ... :)

Okay.

To reproduce it, simply go to Plugins, scroll down to Mail Notifications plugin from list, select Configuration tab in the right side panel, and then change any of the settings.

Actual result is that no file is played in both "Beep" or "Sound file" radiobutton selection.

Expected result would be that mp3 file i selected would be played every time new email arrives.

PLEASE DO NOT SET THE TARGET MILESTONE YOURSELF.
Thanks.

I believe that the issue is with gnome_play_sound and the fact the function doesn't have codecs to play the file. The rewrite of this part in bug #571488 might help. I'm marking this as a duplicate.
