GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 599670
The second track doesn't play
Last modified: 2011-05-20 06:02:38 UTC
1. Open a music file in Totem 2. While the track is playing, open another one from the file manager 3. The second track doesn't start playing, totem is stuck at 0:00 seconds playing of 0:00 seconds of total duration I'd expect the second track to play; that has always worked at least up to Totem 2.26. Note that the same happens if I have more than one item in the playlist (which renders playlists useless).
i Can't reproduce in totem 2.28.1 with GStreamer 0.10.25
Marking as a dupe of bug 599105. F-12 builds at: http://koji.fedoraproject.org/koji/taskinfo?taskID=1771400 Please reopen if it doesn't fix it. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of bug 599105 ***
The packages do not solve the bug for me, reopening.
I've got the same issue and I've all the final F12 packages and the error is still present. This problem indeed appeared during 2.27.x but I can not remember which. I do not even need to have a playlist to reproduce. If I just hear fully a music (seeking near the end results in the same), the status bar displays "Paused". Now if I click on the "Play" icon, the status bar is displaying "Playing", with the time being stuck at 0:00. After that, I can not seek, I can not play an other file either. Ho, I just found something interesting: the bug seems to appear when the status bar is displaying "Playing" in general: - if I start totem, play an OGG file, and then load (thus play) an other one, it displays "Playing | 0:00 / 0:00". - if I start totem, play an OGG file, *pause*, and then play an other file, it works like a charm. It's seems the stream is not properly stopped before switching of file or something like that.
Last info, when the player is stuck at "Playing | 0:00 ..." when starting to play the second file, the information about the new track is still not loaded: the title is the old file.
Which versions of gstreamer, gstreamer-plugins-base and gstreamer-plugins-good are you using?
gstreamer-0.10.25-1.fc12.i686 gstreamer-plugins-base-0.10.25-5.fc12.i686 gstreamer-plugins-good-0.10.16-7.fc12.i686
I believe this was fixed long ago.
