Description nxxs 2009-10-21 17:18:04 UTC
With older mkv's this semms to be no problem, but when i fill my
playlist with newer mkv files, the playback freezes if i select no
subtitles to be displayed ( it seems the standard on these files is to
display them, why?) when the next item in the playlist is to be played.
even opening a completely different file in the player is impossible,
playback does not start again. ive worked around this by defining font
size as 1 in the preferences. then at least playback works.

Thanks for taking the time to report this bug.
Without a stack trace from the crash it's very hard to determine what caused it.
Can you get us a stack trace? Please see http://live.gnome.org/GettingTraces for more information on how to do so. Thanks in advance!
Comment 2 nxxs 2009-10-22 05:09:28 UTC
i installed the debug modules, but the player doesnt really crash, it just fails to play the next item in the playlist. if it helps, i could try to make a short video documenting the error, but i dont really see how it would. I will however continue to try getting the trace somehow, lets hope it works eventually.
Comment 3 nxxs 2009-10-22 06:06:04 UTC
i just tried opening an avi file after playing the mkv with disabled subtitles, this works. the next mkv with integrated subtitles after the avi failed to play, but an mkv file without the subtitles plays fine. each time i disable the subtitles on mkv playback, i have to close the player after playback has finished, and open a new one for the next mkv. this problem seems to be affecting all containers with integrated subtitles, since i just encountered the same problem with disabled subtitles on a ogm container file. switching audio tracks however is no problem.

this bug is still reproducible?

can you send the stacktrace?

Thank

Comment 9 nxxs 2009-12-05 16:36:54 UTC
this short video shows the bug. i tried to up it here, but the filesize was too big. its about 4 mb, so it shouldnt take too long to get. i hope this clarifies the matter a bit
