Description Jens Herrmann 2009-10-21 09:15:54 UTC
I use Gimp to scan documents and save them as png. Since the update to 2.6.7 the main windows jumps down about 20 px when I close the document window. This is the behaviour when I do not open more than one document. When two documents were open and I close the last one then the main window jumps to the middle of the screen and resizes to 1/3 of the size when its maximized.
In case this is not random but intended please change this back to how it worked in 2.6.6. The maximized main window allows the user to close the document window via mouse without looking at the screen at all. With 2.6.7 this is not possible anymore.

I'll assume that the "main window" is the "no image open window" as specified in http://gui.gimp.org/index.php/No_image_open_specification

It is expected that this window resets to the size and location it had previously (this lets you put it where you want it and how big you want it); and this seems to work for me.

The behaviour you're describing sounds strange, and as far as I can remember this has not been reported yet. Is there anything special to your system that could affect the behaviour of application windows?

When I maximize the main window, scan a picture, save the picture and close the window of the picture, the no image open window always resizes to 752x536 pix. As I understand the specification mentioned this should not happen und did not happen in 2.6.6 here.

p.s. Without doing any changes/updates the 20 px jump described above is not reproduceable anymore. The resize issue is left now only.
