Fully updated UNR karmic beta on MSI Wind U-90.
When gnome login screen comes up, brightness starts to change continuously. The only way to stop it is log in and use gnome brightness applet. Moreover, the problem "randomly" reappears while a user session is active and i have to use "gnome brightness applet" once again.

This bugs seems to be present only in MSI Wind netbooks (and clones).
The bug was not present in Jaunty (regression?).

Haven't fully investigated yet, but some details:

In particular, this is because the brightness keys are handled in hardware _and_ emit key events. This could/should be done with a quirk in hal-info, setting brightness_in_hardware.

The flickering happens when using the xrandr backend (which doesn't use hal). The workaround for this is to disable KMS.

So this is not really a bug in g-p-m, rather in XBACKLIGHT/hal.
