GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 599109
Missing headset icon
Last modified: 2010-12-09 12:47:01 UTC
Created attachment 145895 [details] Screenshot Connect a USB headset. In Fedora 11 (g-m 2.26), the hardware list in the volume control window showed the same icon as internal soundcards. In Fedora 12 (g-m 2.28), no icon is shown for headsets. I have seen a webcam icon being shown for the internal mic of a webcam, so maybe we could have a special "headset" icon?
We depend on art folks actually contributing something here: http://live.gnome.org/GnomeArt/ArtRequests/GenericAudioIcons
Mass move to gnome-control-center.
There's a headset icon in the sound panel now, though I'm not sure about the icon name. What's the output of "pacmd list-cards" with the headset plugged in? I'm particularly interested in the "device.icon_name" property.
device.icon_name = "audio-headset-usb" (on Fedora 14, which still does not display any icon for the headset)
We added "audio-headset" icons in bug 581917, for GNOME 3.x *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of bug 581917 ***
