Description Pedro Villavicencio 2009-10-19 13:36:02 UTC
this report has been filed here:

https://bugs.edge.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/brasero/+bug/449737

"I occasionaly burn video files along with a subtitle file to a rewritable dvd so that I can watch it using a DVD player. For the DVD player to recognise and load the subtitle file it must be similarly named. Only the extension must differ.

For example if I have a video file named xyz-abc-123.avi then the subtitle file must be named xyz-abc-123.srt.
The subtitle file usually has a different name, so I have to rename it. Simple logic dictates that I press F2 or right-click on an avi file and select rename, then select the filename without the extension and hit ctrl-c to copy it. I then do the same for the subtitle file, but instead of copying I hit ctrl-v to paste the previously copied text over the selected text.

What happens is Brasero pops up a dialog saying:

"xyz-abc-123" cannot be added to the selection.
It does not exist at the specified location.

What should happen:
The subtitle file should be renamed to xyz-abc-123.srt"

Thanks for the report. I guess that when you do your first ctrl-c it does not copy the name but the file itself that's why you have the error message. I tried and indeed it does not work.
The current "workaround" would be (I tested it) right click on the selected file name and select copy and then paste it in the second cell again using the right click menu.
I don't know if that will be easily fixable as it seems to me that the problem is with GtkTreeView that does not pass the keyboard shortcuts to the right widget.

I found a way to fix that in master. It should be backported for the next release of 2.28.
