GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 598648
problems with seahorse in ubuntu 9.10 karmic
Last modified: 2010-01-29 23:58:02 UTC
I tested seahorse in karmic, it seems that once you create a GnuPG key, it does not show up immediately. I need to quit seahorse and start it up again to see the new key. Quick question: Content of ~/.gnupg/gpg.conf in karmic is the following: == # FILE CREATED BY SEAHORSE use-agent == 1) where are the keys actually stored now? 2) what dir do I need to back up to have my GPG key kept safe offline? seahorse 2.27.90-0ubuntu1 Linux karmic 2.6.31-6-generic #26-Ubuntu SMP Fri Aug 21 17:48:16 UTC 2009 i686 GNU/Linux Distributor ID: Ubuntu Description: Ubuntu karmic (development branch) Release: 9.10 Codename: karmic

karmic has 2.28.0 could you please check that's what you're running? I just tried and my new key showed up right away. You're looking at the "My Personal Keys" tab for the new key right?
The gpg.conf string is a known issue. https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=585535
The keys have always been stored in ~/.gnupg.

This is ok. karmic currently has seahorse 2.28.1-0ubuntu1. I no longer see the issue I reported 3 months ago.
