Description Pedro Villavicencio 2009-10-15 14:43:47 UTC
this report has been filed here:

https://bugs.edge.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/nautilus/+bug/452200

"Setting the default zoom preference in Nautilus does not work in 2.28. The attachment shows
the behavior.

What we see in the screenshot is that the default zoom level is set to 50%, and the icons of the
Desktop are resized accordingly. However, the icons in the main Nautilus window are not.
The change is not applyied if the preferences window is closed nor if nautilus is restarted."

The issue is still there in GNOME 3.2
Comment 5 Sebastien Bacher 2011-11-08 18:31:51 UTC
Some details, the default zoom value doesn't apply to the compact view at least in 3.2, seems to work fine in "icons"
Comment 6 Fred Morcos 2012-03-01 20:35:03 UTC
I can confirm that the zoom value doesn't apply to the compact view in 3.2.
Comment 7 William Jon McCann 2012-08-14 18:50:44 UTC
Thanks for taking the time to report this bug.
However, you are using a version that is too old and not supported anymore. GNOME developers are no longer working on that version, so unfortunately there will not be any bug fixes for the version that you use.

By upgrading to a newer version of GNOME you could receive bug fixes and new functionality. You may need to upgrade your Linux distribution to obtain a newer version of GNOME.
Please feel free to reopen this bug if the problem still occurs with a newer version of GNOME.
Comment 8 Fred Morcos 2012-08-14 20:45:56 UTC
I can confirm, again, that it still applies to 3.4.2.
Comment 9 William Jon McCann 2012-08-16 13:01:10 UTC
Please don't reopen without a reason. Compact mode has been removed.
