Description Mo 2009-10-11 11:15:35 UTC
The ekiga version shipped with ubuntu jaunty does not use the configured outbound proxy but just seems to ignore that setting. I have that problem with jaunty's current ekiga package version "3.2.0-0ubuntu2", and as a posting on launchpad (https://answers.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/ekiga/+question/69893 ) states, that already was the case with version "3.2.0-0ubuntu2".

Due to complex unsolved dependencies of ekiga version 3.2.6 I did not manage to build a working package to check if this issue is still present in latest ekiga releases. Could someone tell me if this bug was closed in latest ekiga versions?

If yes, I would contact the ubuntu package maintainer. If not, this is a big show stopper, since it makes ekiga unusable for those of us with mandatory outbound proxy in their voip setup.

Greetings
Mo

Sorry, there was a copy/paste error in my last post:

The launchpad posting references "ekiga_3.2.0-0ubuntu1".

Hi,

Can you try with my 3.2.6 packages?

Hi Yannick,

I just tried your packages and that version of ekiga uses the outbound proxy setting as expected. Thanks for the hint!

Are you in any way connected to the official ubuntu packaging of ekiga?

I wonder if there is any chance to get that bug fixed in the official ubuntu jaunty package.

Best regards
Mo

No. I doubt they will do it :(
