Description Will Norris 2009-10-10 04:03:33 UTC
Currently, the mdns service name is hard-coded to "$username's remote desktop on $host", or simply "$username" if vino-mdns:showusername is set to 1.

Apple uses the convention of simply advertising services using the hostname, so that multiple services for the same host (such as AFP and VNC) are displayed together in the Finder. I'd love to see vino use this same convention (hostname only) or at the very least make it user configurable.

Vino is not under active development anymore and unmaintained.

Please use gnome-remote-desktop instead.
