Description Sergio Barjola 2009-10-08 18:18:56 UTC
This bug has been reported here:

https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-panel/+bug/394213

If you open a openoffice file located on a samba share via the "Recent Documents" option in Places it will open the file in fileroller instead of Openoffice.

Actually forwarding the *useful* information would have been nice here:

This appears to be a case of gnome-panel not giving the app the gvfs-fuse path for the file.
Note that OpenOffice.org uses %F so it won't get passed a URI so should be getting passed a gvfs-fuse path instead.

bugzilla.gnome.org is being replaced by gitlab.gnome.org. We are closing all old bug reports in Bugzilla which have not seen updates for many years.

If you can still reproduce this issue in a currently supported version of GNOME (currently that would be 3.38), then please feel free to report it at https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/gnome-panel/-/issues/

Thank you for reporting this issue and we are sorry it could not be fixed.
