GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 597807
URL's using 'localhost' do not work correctly
Last modified: 2009-11-09 14:04:36 UTC
On 2.27.92 "Webkit" version on Ubuntu Linux 9.10 (Alpha 6 - w/ updates through Oct 7, 2009). If I type the following URL: "http://localhost:8180", I receive the following error: Unable to load page Problem occurred while loading the URL http://localhost:8180/ Cannot connect to destination However, if I type, "http://127.0.0.1:8180" everything works find. I've verified it is not a problem with my DNS set-up or anything like that (NOTE: Firefox works fine with both 'localhost' and '127.0.0.1' - ping works fine, etc)

I am now runnint 2.28.1 Epiphany Webkit from the PPA for Ubuntu 9.10. I still have this issue. Before, I was on version 2.27.92. Isn't 2.28.xx "the next version"? I don't think this issue is resolved yet.
