Description Michael Monreal 2009-10-08 09:07:19 UTC
Example: have one browser window (and a few other apps) on workspace 1 and another browser window on workspace 2. Got to workspace 1 and have the browser window be the active one, then try alt-tabbing to the other bowser window on workspace 2. Pressing alt-tab will select the second app in the switcher, while the browser entry is the first one (being the active window). So you have to alt-tab all the way through the list, alt-tab-shift back (which I think a lot of people don't know or at least don't use) or use the mouse.

Having Alt-tab not switch to the second app directly also has the benefit of allowing to dismiss the switching by just leaving the keys after one press.

Perhaps the above could be implemented, and users can use alt-escape for quick switch between previous window.

Also, it seems that alt-tab isn't even shown if alt-tab is pressed and released quickly, so it would make sense when alt-tab is pressed and alt held, that current window would be displayed.

bugzilla isn't the right place for design suggestions and we're not going to change this at this point anyway.
