Description Lucas Lommer 2009-10-03 19:26:45 UTC
During installation it would be nice if evince ask to create shortcut icon on desktop, maybe some other options like if you want to install evince globally or just for the current user...
Comment 1 Lucas Lommer 2009-10-03 19:30:37 UTC
The possibility of creating menu entry would be nice.

This bug is more enhancement, so I will change its importance.
Comment 2 Hib Eris 2010-02-02 11:45:09 UTC
This functionality should be added to the installer. See https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=596403 for more information on the installer.
Comment 3 Hib Eris 2010-02-26 15:39:42 UTC
The latest developer build 2.29.91 of Evince by default creates menu entries and shortcut icons for all users.
Comment 4 Peter Ford 2013-01-04 18:31:38 UTC
Yes, I just installed from evince-2.32.0.145.msi and I don't remember having any choices at all. (Except when I was asked to agree to the GPL)

The thing I noticed, which is probably more serious than what's been mentioned so far (but still not too serious) is that the file association for PDFs has been changed from Adobe to Evince.

(I assume this issue isn't worth raising a separate enhancement bug. I suggest the bug summary should be changed to something like "Enhance the installer's features and options".)

Quick Win:
Page https://live.gnome.org/Evince/Downloads should mention that the MSI doesn't give you any installation options. And maybe it should link to the relevant version of Evince Portable as an alternative? http://portableapps.com/apps/office/evince_portable
