Could you please provide a patch against Rhythmbox master, instead of a tarball? It would make it much easier to comment on your code.

i added the makefile.am from the python-sample plugin and modified it
i hope the the patch is made the right way

To be accepted into rhythmbox itself, this plugin needs to be licensed under GPL+exception (same terms as the rest of the source) or something more liberal, not GPLv3.

To be accepted into rhythmbox itself, this plugin needs to not get us sued.  Specifically, I'm not willing to accept any code that does anything with shoutcast.

It could also stand to be split up into a few different files for readability.
