Description Javier Jardón (IRC: jjardon) 2009-09-12 04:32:49 UTC
Please support devicekit, because hal is no longer in development and is
deprecated in favor of devicekit.
See http://www.freedesktop.org/wiki/Software/hal

DeiceKit home page: http://www.freedesktop.org/wiki/Software/DeviceKit
Comment 1 Paul Bolle 2009-09-15 07:39:10 UTC
Libhal is only used in the ipod-sync plugin. Changing component.
Comment 2 Matthew Barnes 2009-09-15 08:35:28 UTC
I have to wonder whether that plugin is worth keeping around.
Doesn't SyncEvolution or Conduit cover iPod syncing these days?

Plus it's still marked experimental, and didn't even compile for several releases as I recall.
Comment 3 Matthew Barnes 2009-09-22 11:30:25 UTC
Talked it over with Srini and he agreed to just drop the plugin. That will take care of the HAL dependency. Folding this into bug #594006.
