GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 594771
No move command
Last modified: 2011-01-05 20:26:56 UTC
There is currently no "move" command in the context menu. I miss that feature. - Mike
the move command is not planned at the moment, you can use cut and paste to move files.
Hmm, perhaps you could rethink that, particularly with the limited folder formatting choices in the importer. People will want to move files as soon as they are imported. It's a common operation. Cut and paste works, but it is not as convenient. - Mike
Importer folder choice is fixed now ;-) But true, the move command should exist, gotta wait...
This is a show stopper for me. This is not an enhancement, the facility used to be present and in the features it says: "Copy, move, delete images and folders." Severity should be at least normal and I hope the priority can be raised. Cut and paste hardly works, it involves copying files into the paste buffer and does it move any associated comments?
A simple "move" command would greatly aid one to manage their photos. I often have many pictures in a single directory that I want to put in several others - cutting and pasting and going back and forth between folders is terribly time consuming. I love the improvements in the 2.11 and .12 series compared to the old 2.10, but I cannot use them without this simple function.
Fixed in git master. This will appear in the series after 2.12.x. - Mike
