Description Sam Morris 2009-09-04 10:18:05 UTC
If I unplug an external display from my laptop, it disappears from the display preferences. The VGA port is still enabled, however, leaving me with a double-width desktop, half of which I can't access.

The only way to disable the VGA output is to run 'xrandr --output VGA --off'.

A button could be added that disables any unconnected but enabled outputs.

What happens if you select "Detect Monitors" after you unplug your monitor? That should solve the problem.
