Description William Jon McCann 2009-09-03 21:04:25 UTC
Sometimes it is nice to have a conversation that won't end up in the server chat logs. For this, google as "off the record":
  http://code.google.com/apis/talk/jep_extensions/otr.html

Might be nice to support this.

Google's OTR is miserable unstandardized joke. Proper OTR support (which of course includes switching off (not only) server logs is http://xmpp.org/extensions/xep-0136.html. Server side support for ejabberd is provided in (alpha version) http://www.ejabberd.im/mod_archive.

This isn't a dup. If you want to say won't fix that's another thing :)
Comment 4 Guillaume Desmottes 2009-11-03 10:38:29 UTC
How is that different of checkbox "Please don't log this conversation" ?

I was just interested in the progress of this work? Never heard anything about
it since then. Now that empathy is the default client in ubuntu, I am VERY
interested in it.
