GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 593698
Entry in the folder selection pane reports unread messages when there are no such
Last modified: 2009-09-01 05:24:09 UTC
The entry for folder <foo> in the folder selection pane appears in boldface and shows a number next to it indicating that there are unread messages. However thee are no unread messages in the folder. This can be proved by changing "Show" from "All Messages" to "Unread Messages", which will cause the message list pane to display "No message satisfies your search criteria....". The condition can be corrected by (1) Changing "Show" from "All Messages" to "Unread Messages" and then (2) clicking on the letter icon to the left of any message line in the message list pane. The number of unread messages will not change, and then clicking again on the icon will cause the incorrect indication for the folder in the folder selection page to no longer be in boldface and no longer have a number next to it.
For future reference, please use the bug entry template. Freetext is hard to read. Thanks.
(In reply to comment #1) > For future reference, please use the bug entry template. Freetext is hard to > read. Thanks. Please accept my apologies. I always use a template when one appears. This bug was reported using the format on web page http://bugzilla.gnome.org/enter_bug.cgi which has no such template on it. I think I have reported a very similar bug in the past, but I am unable to find it. Perhaps the Gnome Bugzilla has changed, or perhaps I have become senile. (Reading this over, it's not clear that this is a hint to whoever manages the bugzilla that a template or wizard should appear on the first page that appears to someone reporting a bug.)
