Each time I try to start render, no thing append : - the progress bar don't progress - the cpu/memory/io are not used - a void output file is created but not fulled - cancel work I join my project file and the log generated with : GST_DEBUG=3,gnl*:5,*ERR*:5,python:5 PITIVI_DEBUG=5 pitivi > debug.log 2>&1 I try with pitivi 0.13.2 and 0.13.0.2 on ubuntu 9.04 32bit

This looks *very* similar to #590114 . Could you try the latest pitivi/gnonlin pre-release from the ubuntu PPA (the packages should be available now if not within the hour)
I try with pitivi 0.13.2.2 but it doesn't work. The bug is systematic so if you explain me, i may can give you debugger trace or more informations.
Frederic, can you give an updated debug log as you did in comment #1 but with latest pitivi/gnonlin from PPA ?

I also found that render work if I add a sound track.
Yekcim often reported that he is not able to make projects without audio. This may be the problem.
Strangely though, I do not experience problems with rendering a clip with the audio removed, or rendering just a png image, using pitivi git. Maybe Yekcim will still have to file another bug ;)
That's the same problem than i had, with the same video :P But i'd got another problem related to the same bug. I'd got a project with a lot of videos and some audio tracks : - When i clic in a part with audio track, all was ok. - when i clic in a part without audio track, clic on play had no effect.
Created attachment 149119 [details] debug log as per original filer I'm getting the same thing when I render to anything other than vorbis/theora
It seems from testing and from some user reports that bug #603102 may be causing this. Basically, if you open a project and try to render directly without seeking in the timeline first, it will cause the behavior you're seeing here. Please check if your bug is the same as bug #603102.
can you see if recent changes have fixed this problem?
No changes with ppa version (pitivi 0.13.3). I'm now on ubuntu karmic.
Currently you need to run the development (git) version to see those changes.
Are there any changes that make it likely that this bug has been fixed? If so, please close as FIXED and ask the people to reopen if it still an issue in version $whatever is going to be released soon.
Thanks for taking the time to report this bug. This particular bug has already been reported into our bug tracking system, but we are happy to tell you that the problem has already been fixed. It should be solved in the next software version. You may want to check for a software upgrade. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of bug 603102 ***
