Description Patrick Reinhard 2009-08-28 12:08:27 UTC
(f-spot 0.5.0.3 under Ubuntu 8.10)

When importing pictures into the catalog with the "Copy files to the Photos folder" option unchecked, f-spot does not handle correctly the paths and file names containing the "@" sign.
The main symptoms are that in any subsequent launch of f-spot:
- the thumbnails are blank
- the photos aren't accessible clicking on the thumbnails
- the "Copy Photo Location" action on any photo whose path contains an @ sign returns only the part of the path following the first @ sign encountered,left to right

Examples:

import from /myfolder/mypic.jpg works fine

any of the following other examples gives the above symptoms:

/@myfolder/mypic.jpg (f-spot remembers and tries to retrieve /myfolder/mypic)
/myfolder/my@pic.jpg (.../pic.jpg)
/myfolder/my@pi@c.jpg (...pi@c.jpg)

I could not find any restriction in the "User Guide" regarding @ signs, so I argued it could be a bug or at least an undocumented feature.

Thank you and best regards
