Description Rolf 2009-08-25 15:06:33 UTC
I had a fully functional Gnucash 2.2.9. After uninstalling and then installing the latest GnuCash (2.3.4), my online banking stopped working.

As a result, I tried to use the Aqbanking wizzard to set it up again. However, when I click on tools/online banking, and click on "Start AqBanking Wizard", I get an error message:

"The external program "AqBanking Setup Wizard" has not been found. The
aqbanking package should include the program "qt3-wizard". Please check
your installation to ensure this program is present. On some
distributions this may require installing additional packages."

However, in the programme directory, I have the file "qt3-wizard.exe"
which would suggest it is installed?

that I just un- and reinstalled the latest daily build of GnuCash. Since then,
my online banking is disabled (and the setup deleted). When I click on
tools/online banking, and click on "Start AqBanking Wizard", I get an
error message:

"The external program "AqBanking Setup Wizard" has not been found. The
aqbanking package should include the program "qt3-wizard. Please check
your installation to ensure this program is present. On some
distributions this may require installing additional packages."

However, in the programme directory, I have the file "qt3-wizard.exe"
which would suggest it is installed? It does not seem functional when run
outside of Gnucash (I cannot add users).

That said, the wizzard does not seem functional when run outside of Gnucash (I cannot add users).

I have realised that if I install version 2.2.9. and then load 2.3.4 "over" (i.e. not uninstall and reinstall) that, aqbanking works fine, and all existing users are visible again (I do then get strange dll errors, so this is not the solution :-)! ).

I am running WinXP Pro.

I installed V2.3.4 from scratch and also failed to start Aqbanking wizzard as above.

MS process monitor showed an access to the directory \gnucash\lib\aqbanking\plugins\16, but there was none. After renaming ...\gnucash\lib\aqbanking\plugins\20 to 16, the wizzard started as usual.

It seems the qt3-wizzard.exe is installed in a different place than expected by GnuCash.

I tried renaming the directory as above, and the wizzard functions again.

I then realised that the existing/old settings were no longer being captured.

The reason appears to be that a new settings folder "aqbanking" had been created. As a result, I tried to copy the old settings files from the existing ".banking" settings folder across to "aqbanking".

However, when using online banking, I get the following error:

12:40:09 AqHBCI started
12:40:09 Connecting to bank...
12:40:09 Resolving hostname "hbci.comdirect.de" ...
12:40:09 IP address is 193.41.132.11
12:40:09 Selecting iTAN mode "iTAN-Verfahren"

12:40:12 Sending queue
12:40:12 Connecting to bank...

12:40:12 Retrying to connect (SSLv3)
12:40:12 TLS Handshake Error: -59 (GnuTLS internal error.)
12:40:12 Could not connect to the bank
12:40:12 Unable to send (network error)
12:40:12 AqHBCI finished.
12:40:12 Finished. You may close this window.

I don't know whether this also belongs in this bug report or not... but it would appear that the directory locations for settings is also an issue.

I subsequently tried recreating users, but whenever I get to the step of retrieving the servers' SSL certificate, nothing happens (the download window opens and closes so fast that I can't see whether there is an error message).
