Description Viktors 2009-08-19 09:43:49 UTC
When opening jpg file and editing comment in "Image Properties" "Comment" dialog box, the only way to save comment is to use "Save As" functionality, but resaving .jpg is lossy operation.
Comment should be changable without recompressing.

Thanks!

Ah, sorry, this is different. But you should probably use a different tool for this task.
Comment 3 Viktors 2009-08-19 12:03:23 UTC
I understand, that it needs huge changes in gimp, but gimp is the only gui tool on ubuntu to manipulate with jpg comment (another cmd tool is wrjpgcom/rdjpgcom, jhead core dumps).

This is related to bug #105623.
Comment 5 Martin Nordholts 2009-08-19 16:20:21 UTC
Hi!

GIMP does not aim to be a non-destructive editor of destructive formats, so I'm closing this as WONTFIX. You will need to use some other tool for this.
