When playing streaming radio stations (like soma.fm or shoutcast), the track notification / mouseover popup of the panel icon displays a slider which serves no purpose.

You could also argue that it does not serve any purpose for regular playback.

In git master, you can now actually use the slider in the mouseover popup. See bug 544592.

While streaming, the slider in the popup behaves just like the slider in the main UI.
