Description paxcoder 2009-08-13 18:23:52 UTC
I would like to see Open/Save dialogs able to rename, copy, move, and remove files and directories. I've been missing this feature ever since I made the switch to GNU/Linux few years ago. When I'm editing a source file in Gedit, for example, I might want to backup an old file (or even an entire folder) before I replace it with the new version, if changes are experimental. But then I need to fire up Nautilus and navigate to my directory to do it manually, with my File Chooser just hanging in the back. Being able to manipulate files and directories would be a great help, and I think many will agree it's not an over-feature even if changes do need to be extensive.
Thank you for considering.
